BillHawk for Mac

BillHawk is a native macOS time tracker and invoicing app built for freelancers and independent professionals.

Instead of start/stop timers you have to remember, BillHawk tracks the applications you actually work in. You choose your work apps once — Blender, the Adobe suite, DaVinci Resolve, Figma, Xcode or any other installed application — and tracking runs automatically whenever one of them is frontmost. It pauses on idle, screen lock and sleep, and resumes the same session to the second when you come back, so your billable hours are complete without any discipline required.

Tracked sessions carry their client and project, which turns invoicing into a selection rather than an act of memory: pick the hours, apply your rate per client or project, and export a clean PDF invoice with your logo, address and payment details in any currency.

BillHawk also includes optional Email Intelligence. With your permission it analyses Apple Mail locally — via the macOS Automation permission, never Full Disk Access — and recognises business language in English and German: project requests, accepted quotes, sent invoices and incoming payments. An accepted quote can become a draft invoice automatically. BillHawk never sends anything on your behalf; every draft waits for your explicit confirmation.

Local-first by design: all data lives in a single file on your Mac with atomic saves and an automatic rolling backup. No account, no cloud sync, no telemetry, no screenshots and no keystroke logging.
